About
01 / BiographyIlirian Patrício Ahmeti is a Portuguese jazz pianist, composer, and educator based in Vienna. Born to a Kosovar father from Prishtina, he grew up between cultures, a background that runs through both his playing and his work building bridges between the Balkans and the rest of Europe.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music, awarded with Distinction, from JAM MUSIC LAB Private University in Vienna, where his main artistic subject was piano under lecturer Danny Grissett. His bachelor thesis, supervised by Dr. Monika Herzig, examined Mulgrew Miller's improvisational language and its pedagogical applications for jazz piano. He also completed a merit-based, five-week summer performance program at Berklee College of Music in Boston, and holds an International Baccalaureate Diploma from Vienna International School.
Alongside performing and bandleading, Ilirian teaches: privately since 2024, and as a teaching assistant for the Erasmus Blended Intensive Programme at the Friedrich Gulda School of Music, where he coaches improvisation, ensemble playing, and arranging.
